A simple, unobstrusive live wallpaper showing slowly moving wave lines. You can choose a color theme, build your own, change if the lines should grow and shrink or if they should have a uniform width. The lines may swing in harmony or each line independently. You may set the number of lines, the number of waves in a line and the maximum amplitude.

WaveUp wakes up your phone—switches the screen on—when you wave over the proximity sensor. I built this app because I got tired of pressing the power button just to check the time (a surprisingly frequent habit). Inspired by the great Gravity Screen On/Off. I looked for an open-source alternative and just couldn’t find one. So I made it myself! Both are enabled by default but can be turned off in settings. ▸ Screen lock: cover the sensor for a second (or your chosen time) and the phone locks. Off by default, but easy to enable. Wait, what's a proximity sensor? It’s that invisible little thing near your phone’s earpiece that turns off the screen when you’re on a call. Known Issues Some phones keep the CPU running while listening to the proximity sensor and this drains battery (blame your phone, not me). Most phones don’t, so battery use is minimal. Accessibility Services ▸ Purpose: Starting with Android 9, WaveUp utilizes the Accessibility Services API to allow users to switch off the screen. ▸ Privacy and Security: WaveUp uses the Accessibility Services API exclusively for this purpose and only if the 'lock' option is enabled. No personal data is collected, stored, or shared through this service. ▸ Permission Scope: The Accessibility Services permission is strictly used for enabling the screen lock feature. It does not monitor or interact with any other aspect of device usage. Permissions (yep, quite a few) ▸ WAKE_LOCK – turn on the screen ▸ RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED – auto-start on boot ▸ READ_PHONE_STATE – pause during calls ▸ BLUETOOTH / CONNECT – avoid pausing when on a Bluetooth call ▸ IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS etc. – stay alive in the background ▸ FORCE_LOCK – lock device (Android 8 and below) ▸ ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE – lock device (Android 9+) ▸ DELETE_PACKAGES – let the app uninstall itself if needed Uninstalling (Android 8 and older) WaveUp uses Device Admin permissions, so it won’t uninstall the usual way. This application downloads and displays weather forecasts available from the api.met.no service.

Weather Radar is an open-source application featuring doppler radar images from the United States National Weather Service and the air quality map from AirNow. There are two radar options: an "enhanced" radar with pan and zoom capabilities and single images based on location. The single images can be faster to load when connection speeds are suboptimal. You can save your favorite views for easy reference. National Weather Service radar imagery is available for the United States and its territories.

Web2PDF is the android way to use http://www.pdfmyurl.com/ for converting web pages to pdf files. It lets you convert a web page to pdf file by using the unique "share" feature of android platform. Unfortunately websites requiring you to login are not supported. For Gingerbread or newer devices, system download manager will be used to download the pdf file. Otherwise for older devices, once pdf conversion is completed, system browser will be opened to download the pdf. The location of the saved file may be different across different devices. For example, using the stock browser with nexus one, the pdf file will be downloaded such as /sdcard/download/www.nytimes.com.pdf

If an app allows you to select plain text then the selected text is shared to this app, which in turn, opens it in your search engine of choice, provided it obeys the OpenSearch format. You manage your search engines on the admin UI. You can import engines from an url, or you can add new engines by hand: for examples, see OpenSearch engines from Mycroft project and SearchPlugins. If you tap the import icon on the action bar, a dialog will appear. You have to fill the url edit box, then tap the import button. You have to fill in at least the name and the url fields. There is a paste icon on the right side of the url field; if you tap this icon, it will paste a "{searchTerms}" string into the url field. This is necessary because this string will be replaced by your search string in the url.
